| A Memorial Day Tribute |
|
The USS Pasadena and the USS Pasadena Foundation placed a wreath at the USS Bowfin Museum and Park at the submarine memorial for the boats and men still on eternal patrol. This is the second year that the Boat and the Foundation have held this ceremony. In attendance from the USS Pasadena: Commanding Officer Doug Perry, Executive Officer Lee Sisco, Master Chief Jim Lyle (Chief of the Boat), Chief Hamilton, Senior Chief Drumheller, and other sailors and family members from the boat.
The
names of all 54 boats lost at-sea were called-out and the bell was rung
twice for each boat. A special ceremony honored
the sailors of the USS Parche, which includes our first Foundation
President, Thornton Hamlin who is still alive today. All sailors on
the USS Parche are listed on this plaque.
